Canon refresh office imageRUNNER ADVANCE ranges

24 February 2020

Canon are launching the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C7700 series (replacing the C7500 "generation III" machines) and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3700 Series (which replace the C3500 "generation III" machines).

There are some substantial upgrades on the older print motors, but the big difference is the all-new document feeder, common to both new ranges. The new feeder can scan up to 270 images per minute in duplex mode - that is to say 135 sheets per minute - and we are told it is also much quieter than the older models' feeder. A new technology guiding sheets through the feeder allows it to run both faster and more quietly. 270 ipm really is extremely fast, putting Canon up there with the Xerox PrimeLink machines, though this record is unlikely to hold for long with the new Konica Minolta machines expected to reach 280 ipm. The new Canon feeders have a capacity of up to 200 sheets, and can reliably scan originals as small as A6 format. Canon are highlighting that the new platen's glass actually resists dirt and specifically, correction fluid, an elegant way of helping the machines retain scan and copy quality (and reducing office disputes?).

The new machines' technical specifications and sales arguments are already available to subscribers of DataMaster Online.
