Muratec launch the MFX-3510 and MFX-3530

The manufacturer Muratec has just unveiled two new A4 monochrome multifunctions for the North American market.  The MFX-3510 and MFX-3530 have been designed to suit document capture, workflow and archiving environments - a market which is still showing good growth.

The MFX-3510 and MFX-3530 both have a print speed of 37 ppm and run PCL 6 as standard to suit the Windows, AS400 and Linux environments.  PostScript 3 can be added as an option.

Both models have an 80-sheet document feeder.  Both can read both sides of a document, and the feeder on the MFX-3530 can achieve this in a single pass.  Scan resolution is 600 x 600 dpi in color.

The MFX-3530 is run from a 5.8 inch touch screen, where the DirectScan function can be found.  This supports (Windows) folder browsing - so a user can pick which folder to scan to.  Up to 300 shortcuts can make folder selection instantaneous.  Other scan features are scan to email, to FTP location or to a USB key.  The optional ScanTag suppports indexing of the documents being scanned right at the interface, which makes it easy to integrate paper-bound information into company document management systems.  The MFX-3530 also supports scan to cloud.

As regards document storage, Muratec has dropped the idea of a document server on the device itself and suggests using their OfficeBridge Docs app instead.  This runs on a PC on the network, and walk-up users of the Muratec can scan to and print from the documents held in the PC.  They can manage document sharing from the MFP screen too.
