Sharp considers supplying copiers to Samsung

Sharp and Samsung seem to be moving closer together, with the Japanese manufacturer considering supplying complete photocopiers to the Korean electronics giant. These machines would be made in Sharp factories but sold with Samsung badges.
Samsung invested nearly 110 million USD in 3% of Sharp in March, and has become one of the principal shareholders in Sharp Electronics. However, Sharp declined an offer from Samsung to buy out the entire printing division.
The two conglomerates are in negotiation and might yet tie up their MFP manufacturing and sales activities still further. The highly-developed worldwide reach of Samsung is very appealing to Sharp Electronics, particularly as regards developing countries where they have not made their presence felt as well as Samsung. For Samsung, increased co-operation would provide a source of high-end equipment.
